Tally ho chaps!

Everyone's on about it; Made in Chelsea has arrived on our telly boxes and it's not just the drama that's got us talking, it's the fashion! The spoilt hooray henry's might have wads of cash to boot and an eye for all things above and beyond the 'high street' price tags, but that doesn't mean we can't look just as good.

I'm loving Caggie atm. Her upper class bo-ho chic look leaves me in awe, I love this girls style! She rocks the over-sized denim shirts like no mans business, which inspired me to make my very own purchase. However, unlike her, I stumbled upon my denim beaut in a charity shop for four GBP's no less - and (!) It's Ralph Lauren, eat your heart out Cags!

Rosie Fortescue has gorgeous taste in fashion, she rocks the effortless grunge look without stepping out of her clean cut 'English rose' persona. I'm not her biggest fan per se but her wardrobe does get a thumbs up from me; especially her killer shoes featured in the pic below, chunky wedges from Topshop never fail.

Right now I'm excited by ...

PEPLUM DRESSES!

This dress above is by far my favourite, I found it on Oli.co.uk, it's 40 pounds and beautiful. I love Victoria Beckham's peplum dress from her collection; but the price tag is enough to make anyone squeamish.

However there are lots of alternative inspired peplum dresses on the market, so keep your eyes peeled!

The beautiful tailored waist, and exaggerated hips give the dress such a beautiful slimming shape. Perfect for any woman. What more could you want?!

Next up ...

Suede wedges! Ooh they give me shivers. Standing at 5'9 is a slight downfall, as I simply don't have the confidence or ability to walk in 3/4inch heels, but suede wedges are simply too gorgeous to pass up on. Look at them for god sake!

Jeffrey Campbell is an amazing name for wedges...

Dahlings! Winter is once again creeping up on us, and is biting every inch of flesh on show with it's icey fangs, and I have to say; I'M LOVING IT!

Winter is by far my favourite season, Autumn is beautiful, but sort of; inbetween seasons, where as Winter is a statement. It's 5pm, and I'm already in my jim jams, curled up on the sofa with a throw, blogging to you beautiful people, with some very cosy tunes playing in the airwaves. Life's bloomin' good! Call me sad if you will, but I'm pretty damn comfy.

Ooh and I got my tragus pierced! :)

Max Rogers is BEAUTIFUL. I watched him on the catwalk last year at the Clothes Show Live, at the NEC in Birmingham, where I fell in love with his curls! And ever since have had a fascination with curly haired beauts. He, is most deffinately a beaut, as the pics above prove. Enjoy! :)

It's all about the boots babe...

Real leather Kensington Uggs! They're beautifully rock and roll, and the 'biker boot' image they portray is amazingly eye catching. Only problem...they're a VERY snug fit, and as a size 8, trying to get in to these size 8 AND A HALF boots, it was a near on impossible to get my foot in, when trying them on. The 250 pound price tag seems a bit much for what you're getting, yes they're gorgeous, but not the comfiest of boots, and look slightly 'moon bootish' and industrial, but, I suppose that adds to the 'biker' look that is desired. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled, as I have a feeling these are going to be very sought after this winter.

Now.. My turn...

I LOVE,LOVE,LOVED... combat boots, and then shops such as; Primark, Shoe Zone and Matalan started to sell them, and so every 'clueless fashionista' grabbed a pair and tried desperately to pull them off, most failed, and the others that did succeed simply look BORING. I want to be a trend SETTER not a sheep in a flock of millions. So.. I have been looking for alternatives, and Doc Martens have caught my eye.

Yep.. I know, they're slightly RISK-AYY, and very 'in your face' depending on the style and colour, but there's just something about them that really appeals to me. What are your thoughts?

What's occurin' bloggers?

I have been ever so busy lately, filling my time with a variation of everything, nothing and whatever's in between.

After a fabulous sixteenth, I took a train to Reading to spend my birthday money, and let's just say it was VERY successful. For the second time, in a long time, I visited Primark. After previously describing it as 'Matalan-esque', and finding it more unbearable than the Next sale weekends, I found myself pleasantly surprised, to be throwing garment after garment in to my MAHOOSIVE basket. I arrived at the check out with two amazing studded jumpers, a pair of suede embellished dolly shoes, AND THE most amazing bargain of the entire bloomin' century.! This GORGEOUS handbag, which cost only a tenner!! And the grand total in Primark... 36 POUNDS! I take back every bad word I've ever said about Primark. Is it ''b-e-a-uuuuu-tiful'' - Yep. I totally just quoted Bruce Almighty.

I also, got the top of my ear pierced, as I am beginning to get addicted to piercings. I legally cannot venture in to the world of tattoo's until I am 18, so until then, I plan to fulfil my need for all things painfully adrenaline filled, by collecting tasteful piercings. I've had my belly button pierced since 12, and as of last Saturday, I now have the top of my ear cartilage pierced - stud, not hoop. I next plan to get my tragus pierced, so once my last piercing heals, I will be on to the next :)

Dude.

Abbie Elizabeth Beck - Cohen turns 16 tomorrow. It's fair to say, I am very excited, but also, apprehensive. There's something about birthday's...a certain 'expectation'. And no matter what happens on my birthday, I usually end up crying at some point. Call me ungrateful if you will, but if you ask around, I'm sure many people feel the same. Why is it that birthday's are so emotional?

I will start of the day by going to school, yep...bore. BUT, I'm only in for 2 hours, and then I'm off :) 11.05 is officially the end of my week at school, so I shall say goodbye to my friends, and go out for dinner with the family :) Going to be perfect. Then, me and a few friends are staying over another friends house in a town not far from here. It's fair to say, I am ever so exciting. On Saturday, I'm off to Reading, to hit the amazing shops there! I will be sure to post pics.

I'm also hoping to get something else pierced, for my 13th birthday, I had my belly button done, and for my 16th I'm in need of another piercing on my body :) I'm thinking..the upper ear.

Sunday, is off to Dad's house, and then out for a meal with my brother and sister :)

All in all, my weekend is planned. My birthday's hours away, and I'm very excited. The thought of turning 16 is opening up so many doors, time to grow up now, and leave the past, and the mistakes I made, behind. Fresh start, and I'm ready to be the best that I can be.

This is just wrong. I thought wearing human hair was wrong, this is disgusting. I'm no vegetarian, and I do like a good old bacon sandwich once in a while, but I can't get my head around this. I believe animals are bred to be eaten, therefore I agree with meat. However, I strongly disagree with hunting animals for fun/sport, and this is just a step deeper than that. Using raw meat as a garment, and flaunting it down the red carpet, makes me sick. FASHION. How on Earth is this right? Fur's unacceptable, yet Lady Gaga's allowed to step out wearing THAT! I am repulsed, and have lost a degree of respect for her. Yes, she's brave and yes she's controversial, yes she makes great music, but this cannot be deemed acceptable surely?

Dahlings!

I have been distant yet again. After going a hundred and seventy pounds over my contract last month, Mum confiscated the laptop. Strangely enough, I am thankful, as it made me appreciate just how much I enjoy blogging, and how much I miss you guys when I'm away. I've been thinking up lots of wonderful idea's for posts, and hopefully they will be delightful enough for you all.

First thing's first, I am going to have a bit of a rant, I appreciate that it is early in the day, but there's no time like the present, and I must express my loathing for a new trend that is forming...

You know what.. for the moment, I will hold my breathe, and let the pictures do the talking. Brace yourselves.

Coats and jackets made from HUMAN HAIR !!

Are you actually having a laugh! Because I am quite literally having a giggle, this is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. The thought of wearing somebody else's hair as a statement garment, makes my skin crawl. Katie Price was seen wearing the above jacket on 'GMTV', and last night I flicked over the channels and landed on 'Alan Carr, Chatty Man', in which he interviewed Drew Barrymore, who yep.. was wearing the disgusting creation.

From a distance, the black shimmer of the jacket looks quite glamorous, in a ... black raven style way, then as you get closer, and realise that the beautiful shimmer is in fact just light bouncing off of strands of DNA, it quite literally strips the garment of glamour, and throws up all over it.

As you can tell, I am not a fan, but I would love to hear your views and opinions. Would you dare to wear this in public? Are you a fan? Or are you just as disgusted as I am, all opinions are warmly welcome, so feel free to comment.

Summer is upon us ! This calls for some wardrobe revival, sadly, being 15 has it's draw backs... i.e. complete lack of money. & what does a girl do when she's in desperate need of shorts..? Aha. Make some !! Pass the scissors, and let's get going m'lovelys!

I bought some 3/4 length Tokyo Rose shorts a few years ago, they were about to be chucked out, but luckily I spotted them, and made them mine again.

These literally took 5 minutes,, with a pair of kinda' blunt scissors - couldn't find any sharp ones, what could be easier ?!

There has been so much controversy over his sexuality, yes, he's gay. I find it slightly inappropriate to associate his sexuality with his singing ability. I am doing some research in to some fashion photographers, and I stumbled across Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot, and my god! Their work is stunning!

Every single photo leaves me wanting to see more. Some of the snaps are quite risky, but photography is art, and art is controversial. These are exactly that. I am in love with Mert & Marcus. Their creative sides amaze me.

Her style is innovative. Original. Bolt hard and edgy.

Her voice is so distinctive. As is her trademark red lipstick. Feisty hair styles and outrageous music vids, jam packed with attitude. Nobody wants to mess with Rihanna right. Er.. excusing Chris Brown, but we all know what happened there, and when Jay-Z and Kayne are there to protect the beautiful singer, she really is untouchable.

The reason for this post, is her new music video. 'Hard ft Jeezey'. When I first saw it, I was gob smacked. The way she acts on camera is incredible, she totally owns it. The video is amazingly fabulous, the song is incredible and her style is simply astonishing.

Imagine wearing a Mickey Mouse stylieee helmet, grinding on a hot pink bulldozer in the middle of an army training ground - that is when you're not strutting across a mine field, or rolling around in mud. No, I'm not going insane, check out the video below. Trust. You do not want to miss out.

What is it about Rihanna's style, that makes her seem so ... cool?! That's the one word that sums her up. She's cool. Her style is some what to be desired and admired. Who can flaunt it in a bra made entirely from bullets? Hmm...Rihanna can.

When you're missing something. You find something better. Right?

It occurs in all areas of life.

You meet somebody you like. You think about them constantly, nothing happens. You stop thinking about them and WHAM! It's magical.

You lose people, and realise the ones you need in life have been there all along.

Abbie, What's this got to do with fashion?

It's just typical isn't it. You've been paid, and you've planned a big shopping trip in a far away shopping centre that's big and sparkly. You potter around for ages and find NOTHING. Yet the moment you step out your front door with not a penny in your pocket, you stumble across a million and one things. And they've been under your nose the entire time.

It's the whole wanting something you can't have. Love. To love something, and never actually lay hands on it, yet you know it's right for you, and nothing anybody can say or do, can change the way you feel about it.

Okay. Calm it. I'm getting all whimsicle.

In this post, I will show you the beauties I have come across lately, but being 15 and all, money's some what distant in large quantities. But I can dream, can't I ?!

Have you ever done this? -- Gone on to a fashion website, and filled your basket with every single thing you could possibly want from that shop. Anything and everything. Then been totally shocked at the total cost for all of the items in your basket? Virtual window shopping. I did it recently. Yep. It's slightly embaressing, yet relaxing, for I can dream of the day where I will be throwing things in to my basket and not giving a damn at the price tag. Oh, those will be the days! *Sigh*.

Sunshine = New Wardrobe

After being wrapped up in scarves and many heavy layers of material all winter, it's time to grab hold of some sunshine kissed fashion.

This summer I'm thinking of folking it up a bit, with patterns, different textures and floral pastels. Bring on the chiffon!

I'm also loving the rock chic look that's going on atm. Ripped skinnies, smudged eyeliner, combat boots, rock band vests and tees.

Time to take off the scarves and snoods, and layer up the necklaces!

Bold. Brave. Edgy. Fierce!.. Ed Hardy spring to mind?

His designs are so iconic, an Ed Hardy garment can be seen a mile off. I think his raw and slightly over whelming designs are deffinately eye catching. I love the way he murges tattoo art in to his design. The fusion between tattoo's and fashion is very cool. I love that.

I personally don't have the balls to wear something of his. I find some of his designs to be slightly trashy, and OTT. Don't get me wrong, I think it's cool, but to wear it, you have to have guts. It's an acquired taste, shall I say.

This has brought me to what I want this post to really be about. Celeb tattoos. Some of them are fascinating. I am a fan of tatts, and can't wait to turn 18 so I can get my first - before you say it, yes I have thought about it, yes I will probably change my mind by then, and yes I know what I want, and yes I know it will probably go saggy when I'm old. I know.

I just find the idea of symbolism so amazing. Every tattoo has a story, and a memory and a meaning. I find that really beautiful.

Window retail therapy...

A bit of retail therapy was needed this week. A half term filled with...nothingness has really worn me out!

With the exeption of being absolutely broke, it was a good day. I windowed shopped my little heart out.

One thing did disapoint me though. Some time last month, I visited www.vistaprint.co.uk and got some business cards made for my blog. (You should all check that website out. Most of the cards are free, but depending on what you want, there might be a charge.) I felt this blog lacked something... reality. Fashion is all around, and I felt that I needed to explore. The streets are filled with beauties, strutting their stuff in what ever they feel like wearing, I had this plan, I would go out, approach a DAHLING and ask them if they would allow me to photograph them for my blog - and promote my blog in the process by giving them one of my 250 cards, which I am now trying desperately to shift. Only thing is, I bottled it.

I went out shopping today in the local shopping town with my closest friends. I saw this one guy, he had the most amazing look, very unique. His picture would of looked perfect on this blog! ... unfortunately I got spooked and let him walk on by. Gutted or what! I am very peed off with myself for doing so. Hopefully I can overcome my fear of photographing the stylish strangers on the streets.

I found a rather nice sequined blazer. Not really my thing if I'm honest, but when I tryed it on, I was pleasently surprised.

I am really liking these tailored trousers. I love the fabric, and the way it shimmers in the light. The braces add a masculine touch, but if teamed with a pair of heels, they would look great!

Being a Brit...

Hello there Dahling's of the world.

I am going to openly admit that I am getting a little 'stud happy'. As featured in my last post, studs are an amazingly cool way of customising an old shirt. As for me.. well I have many plaid shirts, and I am going to have to stop myself studding them all. I just can't get enough of the 'rock edge'. The greatest thing is, if you get bored of the studs, you can pull them off. I would advise wearing gloves before the tugging begins. My fingers are living proof that studs aren't the kindest of accessories.

I'm on half-term & getting more and more bored by the second. Thus resulting in me customising everything! Ha.

OOH coolest thing happened yesterday. Mum was cleaning out the house ready for the house move, and she found an old Singer sewing machine my Nan - bless her soul - passed on. It's beautiful! I just need to figure out how to use it now :)

I'm in love.

Enough about me. On with the fashion...!

Let's talk about the Brits!

I love the Brits. Not only because I am British, but because of the amazing turn out of gorgeous celebs! I adore oggling the dresses as they strut down the red carpet.

There were some serious mistakes, but also some very elegant fashion miracles.

Pixie Lott's lace dress was beautiful. The blackest of black tights complimented her sky high heels and the flirty a line skirt fitted her shape wondefully.

Florence - from Florence and The Machine - looked amazing! I love the simplicity, the splash of colour from her hair adds the perfect statement to her look.

Wow. Erm... where do I begin with Ms Gaga?! She is undoubtedly brave and takes confidence to a whole new level. As far as fashion goes, everything about her...dress/coat is wrong, yet she pulls it off in a wierd way. If any other celeb wore that on the red carpet I would've laughed, but Lady Gaga makes me think, and I love looking forward to her public appearences, because I know she will shock and amaze.

Hats off to you girl!

Leona Lewis looked stunning. The bold choice of shoes won her many glances. The matching neon pink lipstick added a cheeky sense of girly attitude. For most of the night Leona was referred to as 'a Brit Award look-a-like.' Many critics said she resembled the silver award. That can't be a bad thing. After all, everybody was fighting to get their hands on one...all except Liam Gallagher, who's award is now on Ebay :) Nice one Liam!

DIY BABE

Yes. I finally decided to customise. To re-create something new. Gary Harvey has inspired me to get creative with the old. So I did.

I took an old plaid shirt, that I bought from TKmaxx for 20 pounds, and turned it in to a shirt-waistcoat thing. It looks very dudey indeed.

I then chopped off the arms.

I pottered around for a few minutes, and eventually found my pink emo studded belt.

From way back when.

Ten minutes of fierce tugging and battered skin on my finger tips, left me with a pile of studs.

I'm sure it's easier to buy them, but hey! This is about recycling. So put your purse away!

After rolling up the sleeves, stitching in position, and pushing through the studs. I had finished. EASY!

Ta-da! Time to try it on:

For a rock edge, I teamed with a Rolling Sones - Starbackers Coffee vest & ripped tights. Which were previously part of my halloween outfit..lol..but I think if teamed with a pair of big black combat boots, the outfit would be complete. Rock on DAHLING.

Recycling + Fashion = Trashion.

Some say preowned, some say vintage, some say innovative and I'd have to say 'I agree'. Is there anything better than saving the planet we live on? ... okay... is there anything better than looking good, whilst saving the planet we live on?! Nope.

Vivienne Westwood is one of many designers who are supporting the new fashion revolution.

Creating recycled fashion is easy. You can get preowned fabrics anywhere. Charity shops, car boots, storage boxes in the attic full of old clothes and memories. All you do is recreate something new, from something old and save yourself some money. Sounds pretty good to me.

Atm I am currently getting very exciting about the potential thought of moving house. Is there anything better than going shopping for accessories and bits and bobs for one's humble abode? Perhaps shopping for clothes is a strong rival, but shopping none the less is lovely.

I am loving rustic accessories and vintage decorations with a spark of modernisation. Don't you? The new meets the old and collaborate beautifully.

Vintage is so 'in'. Why? Why are we referring to the past? There is so much modern technology and gadgets and what not, dragging us in to the future. Yet we cling on to the past like there's no tomorrow. I find that odd, yet slightly cute.

Aren't vintage pictures just the best?!

Movies like Chicago deffinately influenced fashion.

I sorry-gise. Things have been pretty 'sloppy Joe' recently. There's a long line of excuses, mainly involving the losing of my Blackberry and then the finding of my Blackberry, and the crashing of my netbook and the praying the netbook will revive itself. But never fear, for I am back! With a brand new post. Only thing is.. what am I going to write about! Hmm... a - ha! What about... revivals!

Indeed. This seems very relevant. There's nothing better than discovering an ancient past time. Hauntingly awesome. Take the 80's for example. Yeah, yeah I know I have not stopped going on about my CRAZY obsession for the 80's. But come on! It's just COOL! Omg I have just realised it's snowing! As I am writing this little droplets of heaven are falling on to the cold concrete of reality. Aww. Isn't it a lovely feeling when you realise that for a short period of time everything is 'Narnia like' and you get to relax and slob out in a way that is just so care free. Is there anything better?! See... another revival! Snow. At the beginning of this year snow was upon us thick and fast, and now, IT'S BACK! How ironic. Indeed.

Right so let's get down to fashion.

Interior.. it's what's on the inside that counts...right?

Once again I am blessing you lucky people with a fabulous post, with a twist. Fashion related of course, but not as you may of first thought. Hmm.. 'what the hell are you talking about?!' I hear you ask, well I shall tell you.

Interior design. Fashion for the home. A rooms outfit. Style in the living quarters. Whatever you want to call it. We all like to accessorise in our homes. This post was inspired by my sudden urge to move house. Now, as a 15 year old, I am not legally allowed to purchase a wonderful place to call my own, just yet, but for the moment I am with the family :) and we are indeed looking for a new house. Yippeeee! No, that wasn't sarcasm.

I love house hunting. I love to see how people fill a space with their items of choice. Long loved posessions from far away lands.

Ikea, Urban Outfitter's homeware, John Lewis. Vintage stores. Antique cellars. Love, love, love. Cushions, candles, duvet covers, photo frames. I simply adore them all. For me, I love anything to do with dressing up. Whether that be me on a summers day, or a set of four walls. It's all the same to me. Below are some pics of my GORGEOUS duvet cover, created by none other than Janet Reger - well known for her beautiful lingerie. Ms Reger is a prime example, that fashion can inspire interior design. She transformed her sassy lacey idea's, in to duvet covers with a boudior feel. I for one, am very grateful. Sleeping has never felt so stylishly good!

My bedroom is a mixture of plums, blacks and baby pinks. A parisian inspired boudior. Gothic glamour with a vintage twist. I am slowly but surely building my bedroom and adding bits and bobs, to create the final 'look'. When I move I will take some pic of my new bedroom, for now here are a few shots taken by yours truely of; my duvet cover, courtesy of Janet Reger, my lamp - which I love, love, love, and my cute sewing machine, which is yet to be fixed, but it looks very retro.

Move over skinny! Curvy's back...?

Yes you read it right. Real curvy women are edging in to the fashion industry, and it's causing quite a stir. V Magazine has started it, and I defy anyone to finish it. We want to see REAL women on the catwalks! Down with size - zero I say. Do you agree?

It is hardly a secret. Women diet...yawn. Size 8 is now considered 'too big' in the real world, if you're not size 6 and under then you should be, that's what seems to be the message coming across from the media. Leggy, lanky, painfully skinny. Not attractive. Curvy, healthy, rounded and vulumptuous. Sound better? I think so.

I understand why designers use skinny models. They don't want 'big bums and tums' to steal the thunder from the outfits. Models are quite literally 'coat hangers'. Models are supposed to look blank, and ready to be dressed up, why should models be 'real' looking ? Because we live in a REAL world in case you hadn't noticed! REALITY is the norm. Size zero isn't! If you're naturally that thin, then okay... not your fault. But starvation is not glamourous, not pretty and damn right not perfect.

Here's the evidence. Cast your eye lashes across these shocking revelations, real women can work it too, and in fact. I think they do it better.

Such a beautiful concept. I love V magazine for doing this. They devoted an entire magazine to the 'weight debate'. Good on them!

Maybe...just maybe, women will stop starving themselves to look like models. Look at the beautiful women above. Curvy and fabulous.. and guess what?! They're models.

It's time for a change.

If there's one thing wrong with fashion, it's the weight issues.

It's not fashionable.

In this post I will show you the FABULOUS interview I did with 'Not fashionista. Call me Stylista'. We decided to do something a bit different. We both answered our own questions aswell as each other's so that we could compare answers. I think this was a fantastic idea on Swati's part. Genius! She has been lovely to work with, and this interview has been a lot of fun.

What do accessories mean to you?
Everything. Every girl in this world owns a LBD, but what will make her stand out from others is the way she accessorises it. I love love love wearing stuff on my wrists or hands. I have an alarmingly growing ginormous collection of bangles and bracelets. Apart from that I love buying earrings and recently, I have really gotten into statement rings. So if you ask me, accessories can make or break any out fit. But in order to keep my urges under control I follow the mantra of removing atleast one accessory before I leave home. That way, it never gets OTT.

Whose style do you admire?
Being an old-school girl at heart, I am really into the classy and timeless style of Princess Diana and JackieO. I also loved Audrey Hepburn's style in all her movies. On a similar plane, Blair Waldorf with her ruffles and bows, pearls and headbands, would rank among my favorites. But I also admire the boho-chic yet classy style of Sienna Miller, the bold daring choices of Rihanna, the cutesy Selena Gomez and the OTT Lady Gaga. In short, I admire all those who have a defined sense of style and stick to it, despite the changing fashion trends may be.

What are your style tips?
I am hardly an authority to be giving style tips. So rather than tips I will give suggestions.

-You are a lady. Remember that always and don't ever go for something that would compromise your self-respect or dignity. I am talking about thong-flashes and wardrobe malfunctions here. A true Stylista can be beautiful and mysterious, without being outrageous.

-Comfort isn't something you should compromise on. After all, if the neckline is too low, the heels too high or if you are having to constantly adjust the dress, it will look tacky. If you are not comfortable, you won't be able to carry it off and believe you me, that's not style.

-Do not blindly follow trends. Not everything looks good on everyone. These trends are developed for the size-zero models and you will need some creativity to successfully incorporate them in your wardrobe. Don't do something, just because someone else is doing it. Remember that you are a beautiful, intelligent woman who knows how to look effortlessly gorgeous.

-We all love accessories, but sometimes we are tempted to go over-board. Accessories should not be such that they take away all the attention from your outfit. Less is always more.

-Take a final look at yourself before leaving home and tell yourself that you are beautiful. Thats the secret behind every true Stylista. You are stylish only if YOU believe that you are. You don't need others to invalidate your style.

Does the media effect your style and your confidence when deciding what to wear?
Sadly, I would say "Yes, to a very large extent." It is through the media I get to know of designers and their collections, I get to know what bloggers around the world are going gaga over and I get to know all the styles available in the market for me. But, I am always trying to minimise the effect of the media on my saortorial aesthetics. Hopefully, I will achieve it one day!

Quick Fire ...

If you could spend a day with one celebrity who would it be and why?
It would have to be Jane Austen. I would let her narrate stories from her times the whole day and then maybe even get her to reveal why she never got married.

Does music influence your style ? Which bands/artists are you in to at the moment.?
I sure do admire girls like Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Christina Aquilera and Taylor Swift for their sense of style. At the moment, I am really into songs by Death Cab for the Cutie. They are just so soulful.

If you could describe yourself in 3 words, which words would they be?
Irreverant, Leo, passionate

Which 3 items in your wardrobe could you not live without?
My black 5 inch heels, my trusted acid-washed skinnies and silver loop bangle.

Have you ever been travelling? If so, where did you go, what was the best thing you did, what was the best thing you saw. If not, would you?
I love travelling and I wish to see half the world before I die. I have already travelled vastly all over India and also been to Singapore and Malaysia.

Do you have a dream?
I am a grounded dreamer. I have a lot of dreams but the most important of them is to make my parents very proud of me one day!

Why did you create a blog? Do you think your blog's important?
I have an unhealthy obsession with fashion and I had been a regular reader of fashion blogs way before starting my own. Being a law student, my real life has minimal or rather no connection to fashion. I wanted to be a part of the fashion community in one way or another and blogging seemed my best bet. Hence emerged, Call Me Stylista.

My answers to my questions:

What do accessories mean to you?
To me accessories are the icing on the cake. They top off an outfit. I personally love accessories and especally jewellery. I only tend to wear jewllery that has a meaning, something special that means something to me.

Whose style do you admire?
That of Agyness Deyn, Blake Lively, Rihanna, Taylor Momsen, Fearne Cotton.

What are your style tips?
Layer. If you layer your outfit up with scarves, cardigans, waistcoats you can't go wrong. It adds an 'effortlessly cool' look to any outfit, and in the winter months, can be very practical too. Take the Olsen twins for example, they layer with a rock edge, and they look great. Also wear with confidence. Strut around like you are wearing no clothes at all. You could be dressed as a giant sunflower, but if you walk around town with a 'so what' attitude about you. Nobody can mock your style. If you think what your wearing is cool, so will they.

Does the media effect your style and your confidence when deciding what to wear?
Yes but not in a bad way. Without television and magazines, my style wouldn't be as 'stylish' as it is. Everybody needs an influence. Yes, it is important to have your own persoanl style, but where would fashion be without trends?

Fearne Cotton. She's british, she's cool, lovely and bubbly and her style is amazing, plus she has met some very cool celebs in her time.

Yeah, musicians influence youth culture and fashion is a big part of that. Take the festivals for example. Glastonbury. Trademark wellington boots, festivals are cool, and suddenly so are wellies. Music and the 'rock' edge is brings to fashion is incredible. My fave band atm are The Rapture. I have my favorite song of theirs on my blog at the mo, so check it out.

If you could describe yourself in 3 words, which words would they be?
Trendy. Young. Laugh.

Which 3 items in your wardrobe could you not live without?
My brown leather boots from River Island, my knitted waistcoat from River Island and my black skinnies from Miss Selfridge.

I'm too young to of travelled, but I will. Deffinately. I want to go everywhere. Ireland, Caribbean, Italy, Hong Kong, New York. Everywhere. Australia too.

Do you have a dream?
Yes, to be a successful journalist.

Why did you create a blog? Do you think your blog's important?
For journalistic experience, yes I do think it's important. It makes my family proud and it enables me to get a taster of the publics thoughts and feelings on my writing style. I like feedback and there's no greater way than putting your work out there for many eyes to see.

Could she get any cooler?! It's Cindy Whitehead!!

"I was one of the first female professional vertical skateboarders (skated pools and 1/2 pipes). The only girl to be featured in a skateboarding magazine centerfold. I decided to turn my styling career into a new niche and created and coined the term 'sports stylist' which I trademarked. Now I style celebrity athletes like Tiger Woods, Mia Hamm, Kobe Bryant and Michelle Kwann, etc, etc for commercials and print ads and editorial spreads. I am also the fashion director for HER Magazine. I find information on the latest trends in the sports apparel industry. I am currently working on a book about my experiences as a teenage female skateboarder."

Firstly tell me 3 facts about yourself.

I will do almost anything on a dare. I am a 3rd generation native of Los Angeles (which seems to be rare!). I traveled and lived in Mexico and Guatemala for a year in a VW van with my mom and brother when I was a kid.

What do you do, i.e. work. What has got your name out there?
I’m a fashion stylist and I specialize in pro, Olympic and everyday athletes – male & female.Various articles, promo’s and referrals from clients, athletes, agents and photographers who enjoy my work is what keeps my name out there and gets me hired

How did you get to where you are today?
Hard work, a positive attitude, being reliable, keeping up with what’s happening in fashion and sports and anticipating and expanding on my clients needs as well as the athletes wishes. It’s a fine balance keeping the client happy as well as the athlete, in some situations

As a skateboarder, how did you get in to styling sports stars?

I started out as a fashion stylist doing celebrities and fashion shoots and then met a photographer who specialized in only sports shoots and decided that I would make
athletes and sports the main focus of my styling business as no one else was doing this. I then created and trademarked the term Sports Stylist.

What has been the best experience so far, as a stylist?
Meeting and working with athletes & photographers I admire and traveling the world to do it. Also creating a look for someone that makes them smile ear to ear & feel great when walking onto a talk show, down a red carpet, etc – then I know I have done my job well.

What are your next goals and ambitions for the up and coming future?
I am working on a book and some other projects that I can’t divulge quite yet.

Why do you love skateboarding so much?

I was one of the top ranked female vert skaters back in the day. I love skateboarding because its freeing and exciting and it makes you push your limits.

You must have to hang out with guys a lot whilst skateboarding, normally the stereotype for a sport loving, 'one of the guys' kinda girl would be a tomboy, not a girly girl, do you feel you fit in to that stereotype?

I always thought I was a bit of a tomboy growing up skateboarding with all guys, as I could hold my own in conversations and skating, but I did not realize at the time that my guy friends never really viewed me as a tomboy – they saw me more as a fun girl who could skate – it was really only other girls who would categorize me as a “tomboy” as I was doing what was considered a “guys” sport. I was always very feminine when I skateboarded.

Have you always loved fashion?

Absolutely! Not all my “fashion” choices in life should be talked about as some choices in the early years might be considered questionable, but even when I skated I had a “fashion style” that was unique

How would you desribe your style?

I would say that my style now is “gypset” or “boho chic” – I am very much into layering and having fun with it all without the obvious exterior labels so you never know if its an expensive piece or inexpensive as I feel that fashion is really all in the way you put something together, not what it costs

Who has been the best celebrity you've met?

I really can’t name just one as there are so many I have enjoyed meeting and working with over the years. But I do always have a soft spot for the female athletes I work with. (-:

Are you happy with where you are in life right now? Do you ever wish you'd taken another route in life? Done something else maybe?

I absolutely LOVE what I do and every day wake up thankful that I get to do what I love – its basically a dream career and I couldn’t ask for much more.

What piece of advice would you give to anybody aspiring to do what you do?

Do your homework, be willing to pay your dues by assisting a stylist to learn the ropes, work hard, listen and learn, and never give up on your dream.

Have you ever come across a sports star that's had a bit of a 'diva' stop, and refused to wear what you've picked for them?

Sure, it does happen, but that’s when we work “with” someone to find a look that we are both happy with – it’s a give and take some days but that’s all part of the job.

Do you ever feel intimidated by the big names you come across? It must be pretty nerve racking styling famous people.

They are really just like you and I so my experience is if you treat people the way you want to be treated and don’t become all star struck it all goes well.

Who is your idol?

Anyone who gives 150% at what they do, kicks ass and makes no excuses

What's your secret, as a stylist you must have lots of tips and tricks up your belt, care to share some?

Yep – use binder clips to cinch in an outfit fast when on set, sharpies can double as shoe polish if a boot or shoe is scuffed (if you have the right color), wrinkle free is a stylists best friend if there is no time for a steamer. Oh yeah – and always have a lint roller!

Do you still skateboard now? You say you're now a stylist, do you skateboard now as much as you used to?

I skateboard occasionally – I should find time and do it more often as I love it. But in order to be good enough to be happy with myself (skating a park) - more than once a week would need to happen and time doesn’t allow for that right now.

What was your fashion like growing up?

Pretty much the typical “California” hippie/surfer girl look

Have you ever considered styling celebs not linked to sports, for example singers or actors?

I used to do that and still do from time to time but now I am able to pick and choose who I wish to work with. I enjoyed working with Lyle Lovett as well as Felicity Huffman and James Denton from Desperate Housewives

What's the wildest thing you have ever done?

That’s probably not something I would want to share here. (-:

What's the most nerve racking thing you've ever done?

Flying into the Canadian Rockies in freezing weather and being dropped off by helicopter with all our gear + food, then all 5 of us being roped together with our guide to hike up to do a shoot as it was so dangerous. The helicopter left as the air was too thin and they radioed us every 20 minutes to make sure we were Ok. Having to pee while roped together with 5 guys isn’t fun or easy during a 6 hr day!

What was the happiest moment of your life?

Meeting Ian (now my husband) on a photo shoot in Cozumel, Mexico and bantering with him over dinner and just knowing this was a cool guy who could hold his own with me & “got me” and someone I would love to share my life with.

What was the happiest moment of your career?

When Michelle Kwan (the Olympic ice skater) was asked by INSTYLE Magazine what was the one fashion item should could not live without and she said my name on the red carpet of the Teen Choice Awards.

Who inspires your fashion decisions?

I find inspiration everywhere – the street, books, movies, magazines. So not really any one person but more the people and things around me shape my desires and decisions.

Are you happy in your own skin? Do you ever feel pressured to look a certain way, for example pressure from the media can cause women to feel down about themselves. Do you ever feel that pressure?

I feel lucky that I don’t really buy into that pressure. I think it really has to do with growing up athletic and being happy with who I am. Picabo Street (Olympic Skier) said it best in her autobiography – something about she was built to be bigger and strong so she could win races – we all have bodies that were meant to do something great for us. Be happy with that and stop comparing yourself to everyone else

Do you think you have to be skinny to be beautiful?

I wished people realized that only something like 1% of people in the world “look” like models. That means that they are the “different or odd” ones, not the rest of the girls out there… So the answer is absolutely NO, you do NOT need to be skinny to be beautiful. To me beauty is who you are as person – how you treat people, contributions you make, the way you live your life – its not a “physical” thing. I love Emme who broke barriers as a plus sized model years ago – she is gorgeous on the inside and out – that’s what its really about.

What does fashion and clothes mean to you?

I view fashion as art. For me it’s more exciting to look at amazing fashion than to go to an actual art museum. I crave it and feel a bit deprived if I do not have visual resources at my disposal.

Who is your favorite designer?

Wow – this will be a long one… I really like Maison Martin Margiela, I also love Marni and was lucky enough to meet and speak with Consuelo Castiglioni at a party, Rodarte is another fav and I love that those girls are from Pasadena, CA.

For everyday wear I am a big fan of easy pieces like Alexander Wang, The Row, Rick Owens, Isabel Marant, Helmet Lang, Thomas Wylde, A.L.C., Golden Goose (I live in their boots), Alexander McQueen, and Vanessa Bruno – things that layer well and look edgy.

Do you feel that music can influence fashion? What are your favorite bands/artists?

Absolutely! Music and fashion are very intertwined, There are so many musicians that you can look at and see how they have influenced fashion– think of the rock and roll look of Pat Benatar, the over the top fashion of Lady Gaga, the “kinder whore” look of Courtney love years ago, the androgynous look of Adam Lambert, The list goes on and on...I am all about listening to what fits the mood I am in at the moment – on my way to a shoot it may be something like “Paisley Pattern Ground” by The Black Hollies or “Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga, or anything by the Foo Fighters gets me pumped up for work.

It is not unknown that Fearne Cotton is one of my favorite style icons. Her style is very individual, and she is not scared to express her personality. Not only is Fearne a Brit' (woohoo), her 'indie/rock' vibe is something to admire. And now, she's taking the world by storm. Fearne is the presenter of many television, aswell as a dj on 'Radio 1', and now she has her very own fashion line for http://www.very.co.uk/ !

Fearne created each piece herself, she drew up her idea's, and even modelled the finished items. She loves each piece so much that she's even pinched some for her own wardrobe, she just can't resist!

"It's been a mad busy year for me, my best bit was getting to put pencil to paper and finally putting my own collection out there". Fearne really went in to every detail in her design plans, down to the way that the fabric is cut, everything had to fit her personality.

I get my inspiration from Everywhere magazines, the Web, other bloggers , The streets the list can go on and on -fashion is All Around Us.

No i Think that's Stupid..You can be any size & still be fashionable and gorgeous.

Why did you create a blog?
For Fun at First Then once i really got into i found i really love blogging it kinda became like a [Fun] job for me.

Don't Be afraid to take risks.

Really the Only thing i can't Live without is My Polos for some strange reason i'm addicted to Polos.

This post is going to be a bit different from the fabulous norm. Instead of 100% fashion I have decided to write a little about music. As in a former post I mentioned that music can inspire the clothes one wears. In this post I will shove a whole lot of wonderful video's on here, by some bands that I have recently come across thanks to shows like Gossip Girl. Music is expression and so is fashion, they are linked in more ways than one. Stick in your headphones and examine the tunes that I love. If you want to of course, if you don't then feel free to float your boat elsewhere.

First up, a woman that I simply think is incredible. Ladyhawke. Her voice is amazing.The first album I bought last year.Love, love, love her effortless cool tunes. Have a listen...

Love it! How could you not?! She brought over sized plaid shirts on to the scene. A-MA-ZING!

Next up, a band from New York. They are called The Raptures. I first heard of them on a British show called 'Misfits'. They did the theme tune called 'Echoes', which is so cool. I am addicted to them! There's this one song they did with Timberland, called 'No sex for Ben'. I haven't stopped playing it! Hip-hop with edge. Enjoy. I cannot explain how much I love this! My fave song of 2010.

*Drooling* at the hot tunage from The Raptures. This little beauty has been featured on Gossip Girl and a few other hit shows. So if you've heard it before, that's probably where.

Florence and the Machine are BIG! Florence's voice is just beautiful, I could listen to her album 'lungs' all day. Take a listen of this little gem called 'Dog days are over'. Chilax to this with a smile...

Lastly on this post from all this tune-like stuff, it's a song by The Bravery called 'Believe', you will recognise this if you are a Gossip Girl fan. It's very catchy.

I have been doing a lot of interviews lately so I thought this blog needed something a little different. Don't worry the fashion will be back. I was just mixing this up a little bit, as they say, too much of a good thing can get a little boring. I have been listening to these tunes a lot when typing up new posts, so thought I would share them with you, as they remind me of Blogger.

First of all, tell me a little bit about your blog, what's it all about?
Stylerodant, I believe is a little bit of what I’m interested in and others form Art, to vintage wear, Haute couture, and other artist of all sorts. It’s Fashion, Art, Life.

Why did you create a blog?
I wanted something to say this is what I’m interested in, and also what has become a part of me. Because sometimes in the adult world when you think you’ll be able to express yourself and find other people whom can agree with you on the simple things, you sometimes might not be as lucky as you would have liked to think.

Do you feel that fashion is a big part of your life?
Of course, as well as Art . I’ve always said, to call “Fashion” Fashion is an Understatement “D'appeler la mode la mode est un Euphemisme”
Fashion requires love. You give to it, and it gives back.

Who and what inspires you?
Oh, this is a big one Abbie. First of all lets start with my infinite love for all things vintage (clothes and accessories that is and cars) , Artists such as Mario Zampedroni and his Italian abstract paintings, Giacometti, Robert Rauschenberg, Alexandra Shulman Vogue editor, The 20’s flapper fashion mixed with the early 50’s closed fashion, My favourite Haute Couture designer Zuhair Murad. Alber Elbaz from Lavin, Christian Dior, Pierre Balmain, Vivien Westwood, Hussein Chalayan. And my favourite fashion capital Milan - Florence is beautiful. And also Emile Zola the writer.

Does what you see in the media effect what you wear, if so, which forms of media and why?
Yes, it did when I was younger but now, I would refer to the media as a medum that just helps out for instance magazines, papers and even Tv (FTV) . They to me, only provide a source of information and not exactly tell me what to wear just guidelines.
I do have a favorite designer for every thing my favorite label for bags is Fendi and Jane Shilton Dresses and evening wear zuhair murad, Dior, Frankie Morello, Jil sander, Chanel, Pucci and also all the vintage shops in Frome.

Are you happy with your appearence, many teenage girls are not these days because of pressure in the media. Do you feel under pressure to look a certain way?
I can say I’m pleased with my body shape, I believe that when we teenagers worry about our shape it’s just something that will soon Passover ( but obviously in some cases that’s not the case) we should concentrate on how to help it and be healthy and choosing the right type of materials and clothes for your body because not every thing that is designed can fit every one you should be able to find your “NICHE”

Do you ever make your own clothes, or would you ever consider it?

Do you have a favourite label or designer, and if so, which one?

Yes, I do make my own clothes, I make garments which are couture (but wearing them is a v.different matter…) I’ve learnt to sew since I was seven and I still continue till to day, I’ve also made my own collection of garments. It’s a very though and challenging thing to do.

What has been your favourite fashion era, and which era do you think changed fashion the most?
The 20s and 50s were my favourite fashion era not only that they changed the fashion world they brought about changes to our culture in the 20s we had the change of hard woman to the comfortable one wearing the t shoes and the soft yet subtle fleshly coloured dresses which obviously brought back some female Rebeelness and the 50s because this era embraced the woman in contrast to the way they were treated fashion here was sophisticated , elegant and brave and it also saw a change in the way teenagers dress we had the Denim brought to us (thank God for that !) and also the ever loved Yves Saint Laurent (RIP) and thanks for that 60s dress that every one now copies. Let’s not forget Coco Chanel’s line, which brought the Chanel Jacket to change us all . And Valentino whom changed the way women dressed (twice!)

What is the most amount of money you've ever spent on one fashion item, what was it, and where was it from?
I have to say that I like to save money, but the most expensive fashion item I ever bought was a 20s vintage Bellino fuchsia blouse with little diamantes’ and skirt that costs £200

Which fashion item is currently on your 'wish list'?
HA! Two white dresses. One that ended the Elie Saab A/W 09 fashion show, and the other that ended the A/W09 Zuhair Murad Haute couture collection. And a pair of Louboutins and a black quilted vintage chanel bag.

Have you made any New Years resolutions, if so, what are they?
Yes, one is to stop procrastinating , take my second visit to the Saatchi Gallery for the new work, and attend the vintage fair in Chelsea London , and to get a job so that I could pay for those tickets!.

In your own definition, what is fashion to you?
D'appeler la mode la mode est un euphémisme
-Fashion Is also Power!.

What do you think stylishness acheives?
Makes you what you wear not who you are (sometimes).

If you could erase one embaressing outfit from your past, what would it be and why?
When I lived in Africa, on a freezing cold night I went out wearing a soft chiffon dress and I was laughed at. But I learnt a lesson. Just because it’s Africa doesn’t mean it’s sunny through the night.

Have you had many fashion fazes, and if so, what was your favourite?
There was a time when I was stuck in the eighties but don’t worry I didn’t do the legwarmers! I also did the 60s skirt, belt and blouse, and my favorite which I am rite now is the mixed one which includes the vintage blazer, shirt or blouse, skirt along with my Jane shilton vintage bag and a power dress (good thing Valentino thought us to remove the shoulder pads after it’s era).

What do you think stylishness achieves?

Being stylish for me, helps me define who I am. Fashion has been such an important part of my life for as long as I can remember, and expressing myself through clothing helps me achieve confidence, and it gives me a passion.

If you could go shopping with one cool celeb, who would it be and why?

I would love to go shopping with Rihanna, since I feel my style could benefit from her always-edgy look and it would encourage me to step outside the lines and push myself a bit.

What influences your fashion decisions?

I like to think that my style aesthetic and trends influence it equally. I try to pay attention to street style and what's on the runway in equal parts, while putting a personal touch on everything.

Why did you create a blog?

I started blogging because I feel like I had something to say. I also aspire to be a fashion journalist someday, and having my voice heard was important to me.

Which material object could you not live without?

Probably my iPhone. I love is so much during show season because the Style.com app gives you all the latest shows right at your fingertips.

Does what you wear reflect your day to day mood?

For the most part, yes. If I wake up one morning feeling daring and confident, I might be a little more daring in my fashion choices for that day, but some days when you're not up for taking risks, I have my favourite go-to pieces that never let me down.

What are your views on the size 0 debate?

Since I've had some struggles with body image myself, I think that models should be healthy. Some girls are naturally thin, and that's fine, but you can tell when a girl looks unhealthily thin - those are the girls who shouldn't be allowed on the runway. We shouldn't 'ban' anybody who naturally fits a size 0, but instead, discourage anybody that starves themselves to get there.

It you could give one piece of fashion advice to somebody, what would it be?

Let your clothes tell your story. Fashion should be about who you are, so choose what you wear with both style, fashion and who you are in mind.

What does fashion mean to you?

To me fashion means freedom. It is my personal outlet in life, and my way to escape what is going on. Fashion has the ability to free me of whatever I'm going through. When I dress myself, it's my way of literally wearing my heart on my sleeve.

Summer or winter in terms of fashion, which do you prefer?

I love layering, so I would have to go with winter. I always want to pile more and more on, until I get it just right. In the summer, though, I love focusing on having a clean, pure style and simplifying things a little bit.

Which two items from your make-up bag do you swear by?

DiorShow mascara is THE best mascara out there (although Givenchy's spiked-ball wand comes close!) and I can't live without my black eyeliner - I feel like it makes my clothes look a little more edgy.

What is your favourite fashion era?

The 1940's-50's by far. Besides being the 'golden age' of haute couture - post WWI fashion is when the industry, as we know it now, began to form. Chanel was at her best, and icons like Christian Dior, Cristobal Balenciaga and Pierre Balmain all reigned during the time.

What is the next fashion item you plan to buy?

I am currently planning a vintage shopping trip - it's kind of like my new year’s resolution. I absolutely do not own enough vintage.

Girls today feel under a lot of pressure to look a certain way, do you ever feel under pressure, and if so, where does that pressure stem from?

I have felt this pressure, and mostly from models in the industry. It’s the designers who are pressuring the girls to be that thin, though, and it can definitely rub off on to people who follow the industry. We can easily assume the same mindset as the industry (mostly the designers) when it comes to beauty and it's not always healthy.

Finally, if you could give one piece of advice to fashion blogger beginners, what would it be?

Probably to let your blog be an extension of you. I believe that the more real and authentic it is, the more people will respond to what you have to say.

Rah-Rah-Rah-Really wierd, Rah-Rah-Really wierd. It's Lady Gaga.

Lady Gaga. Say what you like about her, the girl's got bravery. (Even if she is rumoured to be a man.)

Puff ball skirts in the shape of Sesame St characters, red lace from head to toe, fake blood and noose, latex coat and potato sack. Yes I am still talking about fashion. You would hardly describe her style as prevailing, but she has bottle and you can't knock her for her individuality. Lady Gaga has taken the world by storm. Her eary slightly uncomfortable performing style leaves the headlines screaming her name in bold. Nothing is under wraps with her, some are questioning her sexuality as well as her gender, personally I'm wondering if she's 'all there' in the head department. Her music video's are slightly...odd. And one thing's for sure, she has quite an imagination. Whether it's PC or not, is yet to be answered. 'Pokerface', 'Bad Romance', 'Just Dance', 'Love Game' and 'Dirty Rich', are just a few of her biggest hits. She truely has taken the world by storm.

In this post I will wonder over L-G's wardrobe and ask those three important words on all of our lips; 'what the hell'?!

Firstly we have the 'boulder dress' as I like to call it. Are they supposed to be diamonds? Rock? Or Fungi? It's Lady Gaga we're talking about, could be anything.

Um...

Next up, the 'lace body suit'. Exposed undies, face covered, crown? No, no and no!

This is wrong on so many levels. Where would I start to begin?!

In 3rd place on Lady Gaga's wall of shame it's 'the rat look'.

This has creeped me out the most. It's like Mikey Mouses's funeral or something.

I call this the 'so bloody wierd' look.

Eww.

Now, this one is kind of normal for her.

This look is growing on me. I wonder how it will go down if I copy the look whilst nipping to the shops for a loaf of bread? Hmm...
